FUMC is continuing a GREAT after-school program!  TWO super fun programs for kids – Treehouse Kids’ Club and Kid’s Music Academy. Children are transported to the church after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays and can be picked up at the church.

Treehouse Kids’ Club

Children in K – 5th grades are invited to join the 2015-2016 Fredericksburg United Methodist Church’s Treehouse Kids’ Club. Each Wednesday, they will play and study to grow a stronger Christian faith and friendships.  Students will be picked up after school and taken to the church where they will have a snack and participate in Bible Study which includes fun activities and music.

KMA begins its 9th year of musical training for Fredericksburg children this Fall! KMA now begins at 3:30 on Thursday afternoons.

Donna Vaughan directs the KMA choir this year and plans to provide some special musical fun for the smaller children. Our new string instructor is Eric Wolf, who works with the Hill Country Youth Symphony in Kerrville and will continue our relationship with HCYO.

According to age/experience, children will participate in a three-part music education program: music theory, singing, and playing an instrument.

Music theory is taught through a fun computer program.  Most 2nd through 5th grade students will sing together in a large group, and then move into the instrumental section, either violin or hand chimes (bells), with the possibility of adding a recorder choir based on enrollment numbers.

Music involvement for your child is a proven help in accelerating children’s academic achievement in all areas. Musical activities will also help to nurture their individual creativity and self-expression. Music gives each child an advantage in their academic and social development, and the Kids Music Academy will give each of them a better understanding of their role in God’s kingdom work here in our community.
