Home is a place that we all long for, where we feel comfortable and warm and know we belong. Let us be that place for you this Christmas season – make this place your home! We begin our Christmas celebration with “Come Home to Christmas,” a musical presented by our Chancel Choir, a 10-piece orchestra, accompaniment by Judy Hickerson, our Kid’s Music Academy and Praise team, all under the direction of Music Director, Don Doss.

This Christmas celebration is about ‘coming home’ to a place where you are wanted and loved with music that might be a little different than the normal ‘church musical’ but will be sure to touch our hearts and memories of Christmases of the past.  The Christmas holidays are emotional times when we come back to our families and memories and remember times in our lives that were important to us.  This musical celebration features stories from the church family and music that will help to lead us back home. You have two opportunities to experience it on Sunday December 11th, first at 10:30 a.m. and then again at 3 p.m. in the church’s worship center located at 1800 N. Llano Street. There is no admission and kids are welcome!

We will continue celebrating the joy of Christmas with three special worship services on Christmas Eve. At 12 noon., Associate Pastor Sid Spiller will lead a lessons and carols service. Scripture is read telling the story of God’s love for his people, and the congregation is invited to join in singing traditional Christmas hymns and carols. A 5 p.m. service is children and family friendly featuring the church’s puppet ministry. Senior Pastor George Lumpkin will deliver the Christmas message at 7 p.m., and the Chancel Choir will lead the congregation in traditional worship. All three services will include communion and candlelight. We will hold a single service at 11:10 a.m. on both Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25th, and New Year’s Day, Sunday, Jan. 1st.

Our regular Sunday services are at 9 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. We will have a regular schedule on Sunday, Dec. 18th, and resume our normal schedule for the New Year on Sunday, Jan. 8th. The church office can be reached at 997-7679 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday (closed from 12-1 p.m. for lunch). The office will be closed from Dec. 22nd- January 2nd, but we welcome any questions about our Christmas worship or regular worship services and programming before or after! It is our hope and prayer that you are blessed during this Christmas season and experience the love that came to us as a babe in a manger. Love, grace and peace to you and yours.
